but in seeing with new eyes." - Marcel Proust

Our fascination with food is reflected in countless TV programmes, magazines and dozens of new celebrity chefs. Increasingly we're being asked to think more deeply about the subject…to consider where food comes from, farming practices, it's preparation, appearance and taste.
Artists have a long history of interest in food's visual qualities, but other subjects arise as they examine it's progress from sea, river or farm through to the plate.
This work was made as part of an exhibition 'thinking about…Food' that I curated and included works by painters, printmakers, poets, photographers and sculptors who examine food's visual, cultural and ecological impact.
