"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes,
but in seeing with new eyes." - Marcel Proust
Recent Works | Folly Wood Audit | one square metre and other works
This project is one of several that Walking the Land artists are working on with the community-owned woodland at Folly Wood in Stroud. The initial investigation examines the woodland's diverse flora and fauna over a year, prior to establishing criteria for a practical and beneficial woodland management scheme.
My images examine landscape, walks and journeys. Often using overlayed, multiple viewpoints or frames, they explore the contrast between an 'ephemeral' and a 'specific' gaze, where time is shifted and frozen to both allow and prevent analysis.
