An artist led initiative supporting the production and presentation of artists' work, through low cost studios and project space.
SVA undertakes a variety of educational projects involving schools and the wider community. The organisation includes artists with a wide range of skills in sculpture, ceramics, painting, glass, textiles and digital media. We also have extensive experience of teaching and coordinating projects in a range of educational settings.

A year round programme of craft exhibitions in our Main Gallery, often featuring artists of national and international repute.
16 craftworkers operate from workshops at Brewery Arts, including glass blowers, jeweller, textile artists, weaver, ceramic restorer, upholsterer and furniture maker and wire weaver.
Brewery Arts offer a full programme of classes for those who would like to try their hand at painting, drawing, sculpture, embroidery and other activities.

GDAF was created in 1999 with the aim of developing and promoting digital arts in Gloucestershire. This encompasses those who described themselves as digital artists as well as the process of producing artwork by digital means regardless of the background of the artist. GDAF also promotes the use of digital forms as a means of extending the audience for interesting new work where access to gallery spaces is made difficult by the limits of transport in a rural county.

The Gloucestershire Printmaking Co-operative was founded in 2005. It is the only print-making co-operative in Gloucestershire and its key aim is to promote Fine Art Printmaking and to encourage artists engaged in this medium.

GPC provides facilities for etching, lithography, screen print and relief print in two well equipped studios in Thrupp, Stroud.

  Stroud Musicians Collective Hub is an innovative music project in Stroud, Gloucestershire that aims to bring Musicians together and to provide a space in which musical and sound concepts may be realised. The project is committed to providing low cost rehearsal space to musicians wanting to experiment, develop new work and to work on ongoing projects. The projects aim is to build an equipment resource and skills bank that may be used by its members and to provide a supportive framework in which music, sound, video, performance, visual and digital arts can combine for project collaboration and sonic activity.

  Prema is a small, independent rural Arts Centre. Its programme is the envy of many a larger, urban venue. Prema, situated in a former Baptist Chapel has a unique, intimate atmosphere where you can experience dynamic live events and a broad range of participatory arts opportunities. It is a small, welcoming venue in which you can experience and get involved with forward-looking, quality creativity.

Stroud Photography Festival

  The Stroud Photography Festival will be held during the last two weeks of October 2007. At it's heart will be a collection of exquisite Platinum Prints crafted in the Stroud Valleys by Paul Caffell, Max Caffell and Dominic Burd at 31 Studio. The exhibition will feature prints from artists such as Bailey, Bill Brandt, Linda MacCartney and many others who will be announced after final organisation is completed.

  The Space has been developing as an Arts Centre serving the community over the last five years. The building started life as a temperance hall in 1879 and has had a chequered history since then! Currently, The Space runs a proportion of the programme, including the film club, but hirers and promoters determine much of the programme.

  Stroudwater Textile Trust's new year long programme has grown in scope and range to include an exciting range of contemporary textile skills, exhibitions, workshops and opportunities for people to learn more about contemporary textiles. All of this runs alongside, and links through to, the much loved heritage programme that offers open mill days, working industrial textile machinery, history talks and guided walks.
Textile Festival
Central to the Stroudwater Textile Trust's year is the Textile Festival in May where leading international artists, and speakers rub shoulders with local talent. Through the Festival's reputation, that has been built over time, well known names come to Stroud from all over Europe and the UK, to exhibit and present work. The Festival is building a platform for speakers from wide ranging backgrounds connected to textiles.

Walking the Land is a long-terminitiative led by three Stroud based artists, landscape enthusiasts and educators whose work explores links between the landscape and art.
Their aim is to develop and produce work in response to walking through the landscape. Their intention is to promote and show the resulting works and to act as sponsors and 'creative catalysts' for local people, artists and others with a keen interest in the landscape.
